TSAA Member's Meeting, October
Inspiring, Philosophical, Practical Marshall art professors encourage members to move ahead Brett Patterson, Associate Professor of Art (left), Daniel Kaufmann, Asistant Professor of Art (center), and Natalie Larsen, Assistant Professor of Art (right).
Has hours and hours of studio work ever left you worn out and frazzled to the bone? So you think, "why bother". Of course, it happens to the best of us. Professors Patterson, Kaufmann, and Larsen in their round table discussion spoke frankly at the association's October Members Meeting this past Thursday about the artist slump and how to overcome it. On a practical level, they suggested creating goals like a certain number of pencil sketches each day. The idea is to keep yourself moving forward. While on much more profound levels, they suggested that we always "be curious", and reminded us of our cultural responsibilities. Wow! They were great.
